Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing HB Stoves Ltd

Please see below the terms and conditions for your planned installation/ proposed works. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us on: hello@hbstoves.co.uk

PAYMENT

  • BACS/ Online payments to be made within 2 days of receiving your invoice
  • Cheques to be made payable to HB Stoves Ltd
  • All goods remain the property of HB Stoves Ltd until payment is received in full

START TIMES

  • Our engineers will aim to arrive at approximately 09:00 unless informed otherwise. Please allow for a 30 minute window either side of this

INSTALLATION DATE

  • We advise you to be on site when the fitters arrive to go over the details of the installation and also when they finish in order to demonstrate the operation of the appliance and go over any questions you might have. We do appreciate that this is sometimes not possible and are happy to arrange a follow-up telephone call/ email should it be required

DEPOSITS

  • We take a non-refundable 30% deposit of the total amount quoted in order to reserve your installation date/s
  • This is deducted is deducted from your final bill

CANCELLATIONS

  • If you need to cancel or postpone your installation please let us know as soon as possible. A cancellation fee of £200 plus VAT will be charged if less than 72 hours notice is given

LOSS OF EARNINGS

  • In the event that we are unable to carry out the proposed work either due to lack of completed works or required materials for which the customer has previously taken responsibility, a fee of £200 plus VAT will be charged and a delay of the installation will occur

WEATHER

  • For safety reasons we may need to reschedule installations in adverse weather conditions. We shall not be held responsible for any costs incurred

ROOM PREPARATION

  • Our installation team will cover their working areas with dust sheets and make every reasonable effort to ensure the inevitable dust and dirt is kept to an absolute minimum. We endeavour to leave a space exactly as we found it. We would recommend that you also cover any soft furnishings such as curtains, cushions etc, and remove any precious/ breakable items, as necessary.
  • HBStoves Ltd cannot be held responsible for any cleaning costs incurred where these recommendations have been ignored

DAMAGE

  • In the unlikely event that any accidental damage should occur during an installation and/ or fireplace prep, it will be repaired and left in its original condition. If the damage is irreparable, a replacement will be found

BUILDERS/ PLASTERERS / SCAFFOLDING

  • We sometimes recommend trusted and competent specialists and can organise their work in order to ensure the overall installation runs as smoothly as possible. In these cases the customer will be invoiced for the work undertaken directly by the supplier, and the supplier is solely responsible for the service undertaken

CHIMNEY SWEEPING

  • HBSTOVES LTD will not be held responsible for any costs incurred from an insufficiently swept chimney. If you are looking for a reliable chimney sweep we are happy to make recommendations

NEW CHIMNEY SYSTEMS

  • Where a new chimney is required, the customer is solely responsible for seeking advice from the local authority concerned and, if necessary, obtain planning approval prior to committing to purchase and installation

DELIVERY

  • We often source and supply stoves and other materials needed for your installation. We do our best to ensure everything runs to time however sometimes there are delays due to circumstances beyond our control. In these cases we cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by the customer 

ASBESTOS

  • None of the materials we use contain asbestos. Due to insurance reasons we cannot continue with any planned works should we discover asbestos in the area of your installation. In these cases, we would recommend you contact a third party asbestos removal company and we will continue our works once we have evidence of removal by a professional
  • Accepted forms of evidence in these cases are either a certificate and/ or lab report from a registered asbestos removal company

WARRANTIES

  • Stove warranties exclude naturally wearing ‘consumables’; such as glass, seals, firebricks, grate parts, baffles, log retainers and the surface finish of the unit
  • To validate the warranty on the liner the chimney must be swept and certified once a year

CO ALARM

  • The CO detector has a 7 year battery life and will need replacing after this time. It will be fitted within 1-3 meters of the appliance. It can be placed on the wall or ceiling to suit the customer’s needs, however the final position will be at the installer’s discretion to ensure regulatory compliance

DATA PLATE

  • A data plate provides installer details and will be installed either near to the fuse board of the property, or on the register plate. This is a regulatory requirement

AIR VENT

  • An air vent will be fitted to any new build after 2008 or any appliance with an output of more than 5kW. Its placement will be discussed with the customer where possible but the final position will be at the installer’s discretion due to necessary regulatory compliance

NATURAL MATERIALS- INCLUDING STONE HEARTHS AND WOOD BEAMS

  • Please be aware that any natural materials can vary in colour and pattern, these form part of the characteristics of natural materials and should not be treated as faults. Please be aware that once an order has been manufactured and delivered we cannot take responsibility for naturally occurring differences. We will ask for a non-refundable deposit for any bespoke/ made-to-order items. We will discuss your preferences in terms of style and colour before making such an order
  • Our bespoke oak beams can expand and contract over time, as to be expected in any natural wood product

HEARTH AND SURROUNDS

  • Estimates on sizes and costs of materials needed may vary from the final cost in cases where we are opening up an original fireplace. The customer will be informed of any increase prior to payment should this be the case. Similarly, if we overestimate the cost of materials, costs will be deducted and the final invoice will clearly state the cost of materials used

FIREPLACE ALTERATIONS

  • Where a fireplace is opened up or increased in size, the finished dimensions of the recess will be guided by the original constructions of the chimney breast
  • Although we endeavour to enlarge the fireplace to suit the stove in your quote, we cannot guarantee that this will always be possible. In some circumstances an alternative stove may need to be chosen to ensure the distance between the stove and fireplace opening is in line with HETAS regulations. We will discuss this with you at the time and can recommend alternatives where appropriate

HETAS CERTIFICATE

  • Your HETAS certificate will be posted directly from HETAS after the installation, please allow up to 30 days for its arrival. The certificate should be retained as this will be required in case of any future sale of the property
  • Should you misplace your certificate a charge of £5 will be made for a replacement. Alternatively you can contact HETAS directly for a reissue at any time

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Pictures of our installations are periodically uploaded to our website and social media pages. Please let us know by email, or letter, if you do not give permission for photos of your installation to be used in this way

Please note: All quotes are based on our best estimate and are for completing the job as described, based on our initial evaluation. It does not include the additional materials or labour required in exceptional circumstances. We will immediately inform you of any such issues. Additionally, any items not used will be removed from the amount payable upon completion
